BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
This position is partially funded by a grant from Interfaith America. Research Assistants (RAs) will work under the supervision of Dr. Pam King in the Thrive Center at SoPMFT and the Project Coordinator to conduct and extend an ongoing literature review of the facets of Thrive’s model of spiritual health. RA(s) will maintain updated annotated bibliography on relevant empirical and theoretical literature, outline areas of research, and write literature reviews. RAs will perform duties under the supervision of, and with direction from, the study’s Project Coordinator and Principal Investigator and will work collaboratively with the research team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (as applicable to particular project):

Review literature on the six facets of Spiritual Health (Transcendence, Habits & Rhythms, Relationships & Community, Identity & Narrative, Vocation & Purpose, and Ethics & Virtues) and how they relate to meaning making and other positive outcomes.

Write an annotated bibliography, literature reviews, and white papers to support Dr. King’s research and teaching.

Maintain confidentiality of communication.

Assist with manuscript preparation.

Possible publication and lecturing opportunities
Knowledge and Skills Required or preferred:
-
Current MFT or Psychology student in the School of Psychology & Marriage and Family Therapy at Fuller Theological Seminary.

Have general interest in and working knowledge of the psychology of religion and spirituality (PRS), positive psychology, and/or developmental psychology literature.

Have experience in conducting literature reviews, be able to summarize complex information, and have excellent writing skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact with a large variety of individuals

Candidates should also be detail oriented, highly organized, reliable, self-starter, and a strong team player

Familiarity with basic empirical research methodology and ability to interpret results as relevant to the project and role.

Pay Rate:

Hourly rate the seminary expects to pay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour USD

Fuller Theological Seminary is pleased to share that its Thrive Center for Human Development has been awarded a one-year grant of more than a quarter of a million dollars for the center’s With & For podcast series.
